TDP-2150 Horizontal Sponge Slicing Machine Cuts 2150x3000 mm Blocks with Touch Screen
Wide Cutting TDP-2150 Horizontal Sponge Slicing Machine with Touch Screen Control

Product Introduction

The TDP-2150 is a wide horizontal sponge slicing machine built to split foam blocks into thin sheets at production speed. Its worktable is digitally controlled and fitted with an air suction device that increases friction and adsorption between the table and the sponge during cutting, so the block stays where it was placed. That single detail is what separates an accurate slice from a sheet with a tapered or waisted edge.

The working envelope is generous: a cutting size of 2150*3000 mm, a cutting height of 1250 mm and a thickness range of 2-300 mm. Operators set the required thickness on the touch screen, taking foam density into account, and the table reciprocates automatically until the block has been cut to the required size.

The band knife angle can be adjusted from 0° to 5°, which gives the operator a way to match the cutting geometry to the material instead of forcing one fixed blade angle onto every foam type. For thick blocks, an optional pressure roller can be added to stop the foam sliding during the cut, which keeps the sheet thickness more consistent from the first slice to the last.

With 13.54 kW of power and a 3000 kg machine weight, the TDP-2150 is sized for furniture, mattress, packaging and sponge deep-processing plants that slice blocks daily and need the output to feed a lamination or cutting line without interruption.

Machine Structure and Key Components

The machine combines a large reciprocating worktable, a band knife cutting head, an air suction system and a touch screen control unit. Each part supports a different part of the accuracy problem.

  • Air suction worktable: pulls the foam against the table surface, increasing friction so the block cannot creep during the cut; the effect is strongest on soft, low-density foam.
  • Digital reciprocating table: travels automatically to the set thickness, so the operator does not push or guide the block by hand.
  • Touch screen control: thickness is entered directly on screen and matched to the foam density, which shortens setting time after a product change.
  • Adjustable band knife: cutting angle adjustable from 0° to 5° to suit different slicing demands and material behaviour.
  • Optional pressure roller: holds thick blocks down where suction alone is not enough, preventing the foam from sliding.
  • Heavy frame: 3000 kg structure keeps the blade path stable over the full 3000 mm table length.
How a Slicing Cycle Works
  1. Load the block: the foam block is placed on the 2150*3000 mm worktable and aligned with the table edge.
  2. Switch on suction: the air suction device pulls the block flat against the table, increasing friction before cutting starts.
  3. Set thickness: the required sheet thickness (2-300 mm) is entered on the touch screen, adjusted for the foam density.
  4. Set the blade angle: the band knife angle is set between 0° and 5° according to the material and thickness.
  5. Automatic cutting: the table reciprocates and the band knife slices the block into a sheet of the set thickness.
  6. Remove and repeat: the sheet is taken off, the table returns, and the next slice starts without re-setting the block.

Key Selling Points
  • Air suction worktable: strong adsorption prevents foam displacement, which is the main cause of thickness variation on wide slicing machines.
  • Wide 2150*3000 mm cutting size: handles full-size blocks without pre-cutting, so fewer handling steps before lamination.
  • Touch screen digital control: thickness is set on screen and matched to foam density, reducing trial cuts after a size change.
  • Adjustable band knife angle 0°-5°: one machine covers different slicing demands instead of a single fixed blade geometry.
  • Optional pressure roller: keeps thick foam from sliding, improving thickness accuracy on dense or tall blocks.
  • Positioning accuracy ±0.05 mm: repeatable table positioning for consistent sheet thickness across the batch.

Air Suction and Cutting Accuracy

On a wide slicing machine, most thickness problems start with the block moving. Foam is light, and a 3000 mm table gives the material plenty of room to creep once the blade starts pulling. The TDP-2150 addresses this with an air suction worktable: the block is pulled down against the table surface, which raises friction and adsorption and holds the block in place through the whole stroke.

Two further settings support the same goal. The band knife angle can be adjusted between 0° and 5°, letting the operator compensate for how a particular foam density shears under the blade instead of compressing. And where a block is thick or dense enough that suction is not sufficient on its own, the optional pressure roller adds mechanical hold-down so the foam cannot slide.

Positioning accuracy is ±0.05 mm on the table movement, but the practical result still depends on the block itself: a block with a sloped base will reproduce that slope, so the bottom should be flat before slicing.

Primary Applications
  • Furniture and mattress: slicing PU foam blocks into sheets for sofa and mattress raw materials.
  • Composite lamination: thin foam slices combined with fabric for composite sponge production.
  • Packaging industry: soft foam sheets for shock absorption and lining packaging.
  • Sponge deep processing: preparing foam sheets for subsequent cutting, profiling and molding.
  • Automotive interiors: foam layers for seat padding, headliner and acoustic insulation.

Installation, Maintenance and Service

The machine requires a level concrete floor that can carry 3000 kg, a 13.54 kW supply matched to your voltage and frequency, and clearance around the 7000*4000*2500 mm footprint for block loading and sheet removal. A layout drawing, wiring diagram and English operation manual are supplied; commissioning support is provided remotely, and on-site installation with operator training can be arranged on request.

Routine maintenance centres on the suction system, because blocked table holes reduce hold-down force and accuracy drops before any other symptom appears: clean the table surface and suction filter daily, check band knife tension and tracking at the start of each shift, and lubricate the table ways weekly. Spare band knives and suction filter elements can be shipped with the machine.

Quality Control, Packaging and Shipping

Every machine is assembled, aligned and run before shipment. The table travel is checked for repeatability, the suction system is tested on sample foam, and a block is sliced to confirm thickness across the full width. Electrical configuration is CE compliant for European and other export markets.

The main frame is shipped with rust-proof treatment and protective film, while the touch screen, control cabinet and small spare parts are packed in wooden cases. Standard delivery is 45 working days after the down payment is confirmed, shipped from Qingdao port. Payment terms are T/T or L/C, minimum order quantity is one set, and supply ability is three sets per season.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a soft foam block slip during cutting?

The air suction worktable holds the block against the table to prevent slipping. For thick or dense blocks, add the optional pressure roller for extra hold-down.

What is the adjustable band knife angle used for?

The angle can be set between 0° and 5° to match how a given foam density shears under the blade, which reduces compression and gives a cleaner sheet edge.

Can it produce 2 mm sheets continuously?

It can slice down to 2 mm, but thin sheets need slower feed and careful suction. If ultra-thin continuous sheet is your main product, a skiving machine such as the TDPB-1900 is the better match.

What if my block is larger than 2150*3000 mm?

It cannot be cut in one pass. The maximum cutting size is 2150*3000 mm with a 1250 mm height, so oversized blocks must be split first.

What maintenance affects accuracy most?

Keeping the suction table and filter clean. Blocked holes reduce hold-down force and thickness accuracy drops, so clean them daily along with a band knife tension check each shift.
