Product Overview
The TDP-52 is a horizontal cylinder foam boring machine that drills the central hole in cylindrical PU foam blocks before peeling. It is auxiliary equipment for a foam peeling machine: after vertical continuous foaming, the round block needs a center hole so it can be mounted on the mandrel of the peeler, and the TDP-52 completes that center drilling step in line with the foaming and peeling machines.
The design is deliberately simple and compact. A horizontal spindle is fed into the block along the block axis, the boring diameter is set within the 45–80 mm range, and the maximum boring length is 2300 mm. With a 1.5 kW motor, a 230 r/min spindle and a machine weight of 800 kg, it is a low-power, easy-to-install station that fits into a cylinder foam line without demanding a heavy foundation or a large floor area.

A peeling machine turns a cylindrical foam block around its own axis and peels a continuous sheet from the outside. For the block to rotate true, it has to be carried on a mandrel passing through its center. If the hole is missing, off center or not straight, the block runs out of balance: the peeled sheet varies in thickness, the blade has to be backed off, and the start and end of the block are wasted.
That is why the boring step is not a secondary operation. It sets the reference axis for everything the peeler does. A straight, centered bore keeps the block rotating concentrically, which keeps the sheet thickness consistent and lets the peeler run at a steady feed instead of being corrected by the operator.
Because the TDP-52 works horizontally, the block can be loaded, bored and transferred to the peeler without being turned on end. That reduces handling and keeps the block axis aligned between the two machines.
The machine is built as a horizontal unit with a 6000 × 1500 × 1800 mm overall dimension and an 800 kg total weight. Compared with a vertical frame boring machine, the horizontal layout keeps the working height low and the structure short, which makes the machine easier to install, easier to align with the peeler and easier to move if the line layout changes.
A long, low frame fits alongside the foaming and peeling equipment instead of requiring a separate bay.
At 800 kg the machine does not need a heavy isolated foundation, which shortens installation time.
A 1.5 kW motor keeps the electrical requirement modest and the running cost low.
The horizontal arrangement also makes the boring action easier to observe. The operator can see the drill entering the foam, check that the block is seated, and stop the feed if the drill starts to wander, which is difficult to judge on a vertical machine where the cutting zone is above eye level.

The main shaft runs at 230 r/min and is driven by a 1.5 kW motor. This is a moderate spindle speed matched to foam boring: fast enough to give a clean bore wall in flexible PU foam, and slow enough that the drill does not melt or tear the foam at the entry and exit of the hole. The feed is controlled by the operator, so the actual cycle time depends on the block length and on how the drill behaves in the specific foam grade.
The boring diameter range is 45–80 mm, which covers the mandrel sizes commonly used on cylinder peeling machines. The maximum boring length is 2300 mm, so the machine handles the full block length in one pass rather than boring from both ends and risking a step in the middle of the hole.

The table above is the standard TDP-52 configuration. Boring diameter and boring length define which blocks and mandrels the machine can serve; the motor power, weight and footprint define the site requirements.
The TDP-52 is the horizontal, compact option. A vertical frame boring machine such as the TDP-63 is built for heavier-duty production and a different loading arrangement. The choice between them is mostly a question of line layout and duty cycle rather than bore quality: both drill a center hole, but they suit different block handling methods and different floor plans.
Plants that load cylindrical blocks with a hoist or roller conveyor and want a low working height usually prefer the horizontal layout. Plants running a heavier block flow, or where the vertical frame fits the existing handling equipment, choose the vertical type. Buyers should confirm the block diameter and weight, the mandrel diameter and the way the block is transferred to the peeler before deciding between the two.

The machine is used on cylindrical flexible polyurethane foam produced by vertical continuous foaming. The block is bored along its axis, then transferred to the peeling machine where it is rotated and peeled into continuous sheet. Typical downstream products are the same as any cylinder foam line: mattress comfort layers, upholstery and furniture padding, packaging foam and technical foam sheet, often followed by lamination with PE film or fabric.
Foam density affects the feel of the boring operation more than the machine setup. Softer, lower-density foam needs a sharp drill and a steady, moderate feed to avoid tearing the bore entry; denser foam places more load on the drill and rewards a well-supported block. In both cases the goal is the same: a straight bore with a clean wall, because a rough bore can wear the mandrel and make the block harder to seat on the peeler.

Four points should be confirmed before ordering, because they determine whether the standard TDP-52 fits the existing line:
It is also worth checking the height of the peeler mandrel against the boring machine center height at the layout stage, so the block can be transferred without being lifted or tilted. A small mismatch here is the usual reason a new boring station needs shimming on site.

The machine needs a level, load-bearing floor. At 800 kg it does not require a heavy isolated foundation, but the floor must be flat enough that the machine frame does not twist, because a twisted frame will bore a hole that is not parallel to the block axis. The machine should be anchored so that the boring thrust does not walk it out of alignment over time.
The installed motor power is 1.5 kW, so a modest dedicated supply with correct earthing and a local isolator is sufficient. The machine should be positioned with clear access at the loading end and enough room at the discharge end for the block to be moved to the peeler. Good lighting at the drilling point helps the operator watch the drill entry and stop the feed if the drill starts to wander.
During installation, the machine center height is aligned with the peeler mandrel, the frame is leveled and anchored, and the drill axis is checked against the block support. A trial block is then bored and the hole is checked for position, diameter and straightness before the machine is released to production.

Operation is straightforward, but three habits decide bore quality. First, the block must be seated and held before the drill advances; a block that moves during boring produces an oversized or off-center hole. Second, the feed should follow the drill's behavior in the foam rather than being forced, because forcing the feed in soft foam tears the bore wall. Third, the drill must be sharp; a dull drill compresses the foam and leaves a rough bore that is hard to correct later.
Operator training should cover block loading and alignment, drill selection and replacement, the feed technique for different foam densities, and the stop procedure for a jammed drill. Spare drills and drill mounting components are the parts worth holding in stock, because they are what wear against the foam.

Each machine is assembled, aligned and run before shipment. Inspection covers the frame and weld quality, the spindle and feed mechanism, the drill mounting, the electrical installation and the safety guarding. The machine carries CE certification, and the documentation set includes the operation manual, electrical diagram and the inspection record.
At the buyer's site, the acceptance test is a trial block: bore one cylinder, then measure the hole position, the bore diameter at both ends and the straightness along the length. A bore that passes this check is ready for the peeling machine, and repeating the same check after any drill change or realignment keeps the process under control.

Packaging is confirmed with each order, because the shipping method and destination affect how the 6000 mm long frame is braced and protected. The drill, the spindle and the electrical components are protected for transport, and the frame is secured for lifting.
Delivery time is 45 working days after downpayment. Payment terms are L/C or T/T, the minimum order quantity is one set, and price is quoted on inquiry because the configuration and destination affect the final figure. Supply ability is 3 sets per season. Buyers should confirm the mandrel diameter, the block length and the peeler center height at the quotation stage, so the machine is specified once for the actual line.

It is the center-boring station between a vertical cylinder continuous foaming machine and a foam peeling machine. It drills the mandrel hole so the peeler can rotate the block and peel continuous sheet.
Boring diameter from 45 to 80 mm, and a maximum boring length of 2300 mm. The drill should be matched to the mandrel diameter of the peeling machine.
The main shaft runs at 230 r/min and is driven by a 1.5 kW motor, giving low installed power and low running cost.
The TDP-52 is a horizontal, compact machine with a small footprint and lower power. The TDP-63 is a vertical frame type built for heavier-duty production. The choice depends on block handling and line layout.
An off-center or crooked bore makes the block run out of balance on the peeler, which produces varying sheet thickness and more waste. That is why the block must be seated and aligned before the drill advances.
It needs a level floor for an 800 kg machine with a 6000 × 1500 × 1800 mm footprint and a 1.5 kW supply, aligned to the peeler mandrel height. Support covers installation and commissioning guidance, operator training and spare parts.
Tell us your mandrel diameter, block length and peeler height, and we will confirm the TDP-52 configuration, delivery schedule and quotation.
