The C-618 is a round-table horizontal foam cutter built for plants that slice flexible PU blocks into thin sheets at volume. A 7200 mm worktable rotates on a gear ring with frequency-converter drive, carrying the block past a horizontal blade while a pressure roller and vacuum suction hold the foam flat. Cutting thickness runs 1–300 mm, tolerance is ±0.08 mm on 1–5 mm slices and ±0.5 mm on 30–50 mm sheets, and the machine cuts foam up to 100° hardness. Motor power is 42.5 kW, machine weight is 12 T, and the overall size is 9000×7200×4200 mm.
The advantage of this configuration is not only the blade. Thin slices fail for two reasons: the block lifts off the table as the blade releases internal stress, and the blade angle is wrong for the thickness being cut. The C-618 addresses both with vacuum clamping and an automatically adjusted blade holder, which is what makes a consistent 1–5 mm sheet possible at production speed.
Holds tolerance on 1–5 mm sheets, so a sliced block yields consistent mattress and furniture foam.
The anti-slip sand table pulls the block down while the roller holds the cut line, limiting warp as stress releases.
Four 2000×2000×1300 mm blocks or three 3000×2000×1300 mm blocks per cycle.
The pressure roller is the part that makes thin work repeatable. It holds the cut line while the blade is in the block, so the sheet cannot rise into the blade or drop away behind it.
Tolerance is a system result, not a blade specification. Three conditions have to hold before the machine can repeat ±0.08 mm on a 1–5 mm sheet:
For thicker sheets, the tolerance widens to ±0.5 mm at 30–50 mm. That is normal: a thick sheet has more material to deflect, and the blade has a longer contact path. Quote the tolerance with the thickness, not on its own.
The 7200 mm table accepts two standard patterns. With 2000×2000×1300 mm blocks, four blocks are cut in one cycle. With 3000×2000×1300 mm blocks, three blocks are cut in one cycle. The pattern decides how many handling moves sit between cuts, so plan the block size around the order mix rather than around the machine alone.
Keep the table balanced. An uneven load puts a side force on the gear ring and shows up as a thickness variation across the block. Mark the table positions so the operator loads the same pattern each time.
The blade holder plate and wheels are alloy steel at HRC60 or above. That hardness holds an edge through foam, but it does not remove the need for a sharpening schedule. The automatic grinding system keeps the edge in condition; the operator still checks the blade for chips and tracks the hours.

A 1300 mm block cut into 20 mm sheets yields about 65 slices before blade kerf is counted. Allow for the kerf and the trimmed face, and the usable count drops by two or three slices. That difference matters at volume: on a four-block table pattern, two lost slices per block is eight sheets per cycle.
Build the cut plan from the order, not from the block. Group sheets by thickness so one blade setting covers a full batch, and leave the trimmed face until the end of the block. A block that is squared before the first production pass loses less material than one trimmed after several cuts.
Record the block weight, the sheet count and the thickness for each batch. The ratio between block volume and shipped sheet volume is the real yield figure, and it shows where the loss sits: blade, trim or handling.
A carousel suits plants that cut many blocks of moderate length and want the operator to load and unload in one place. The round table keeps the block moving past a fixed blade, and the four-block pattern spreads handling across the cycle.
A straight-line cutter suits very long blocks or a line where the block moves in one direction through several stations. The choice is a layout decision as much as a cutting decision: available floor space, crane position and the way blocks arrive from foaming all point to one configuration.
The C-618 is the carousel answer, with a 7200 mm table and a batch pattern for 2000 mm and 3000 mm blocks. If the block length in your plant runs beyond that pattern, confirm the layout before ordering.
Output depends on sheet count and handling, not on the table alone. A block cut into 20 mm sheets yields about 65 sheets per 1300 mm block, and the pressure roller and vacuum stay engaged for each pass. Plan the table load so the operator can unload one position while another is being cut.
The gear ring and frequency-converter drive keep rotation quiet, but a foam cutting hall still carries blade noise and fine dust. Place the machine where the operator can see the full table, and keep the surrounding floor clear of offcuts that could be drawn into the vacuum intake.
Foam blocks are light and easily disturbed by air movement. Keep doors and fans from blowing across the table, because a draught at the cut line can lift a thin sheet after the roller has passed. A stable, dry workshop also protects the vacuum filter and the blade holder.
The machine occupies 9000×7200×4200 mm and weighs 12 T. It needs a level, load-bearing floor, clear space around the table for block handling, and a power supply sized for the 42.5 kW motor. Leave access to the blade station for sharpening and blade changes.
Installation sequence: set the frame and level it, mount the worktable and gear ring, fit the blade holder and roller, connect vacuum and power, then run an empty rotation and a trial cut. Commissioning ends with a thickness check on a 2 mm, a 5 mm and a 30 mm sheet.
| Interval | Task |
|---|---|
| Each shift | Check blade edge, vacuum seal and table surface |
| Weekly | Clean the vacuum filter, check roller pressure and blade holder angle |
| Monthly | Inspect gear ring lubrication, drive belt and electrical cabinet |
| As worn | Replace blade, table seal and roller surface |
Quality control is a thickness check at the start, middle and end of each block, plus a visual check for blade marks and torn edges. Record the thickness, tolerance result and blade hours against the batch.
The machine ships as a heavy project with the table, blade station and frame braced separately. Packaging is confirmed per order because the method depends on the destination port and unloading equipment. Delivery time is 45 working days after downpayment, payment is by L/C or T/T, and price is quoted on inquiry.
