The TDB-2200 is a horizontal foam slicing machine built for the thin end of the range. It takes blocks up to 3000*2200*1250 mm, slices them from 0.5 mm to 70 mm, and holds ±0.05 mm on sheet between 0.5 mm and 2 mm. The main drive is 23 kW, machine weight is 6000 kg, the overall size is 8300*6200*2500 mm and the machine is CE certified.
Thin sheet is where a slicer is judged. At 0.5-2 mm the foam has almost no stiffness of its own, so any movement in the block, the blade or the feed shows up directly in the thickness. The TDB-2200 is set up around that problem: a wide, stable table for the block, a cutting head that holds its line across 2200 mm of width, and a frame heavy enough that the cut does not find movement in the machine.
The full range runs 0.5-70 mm, so comfort layers and thin backing sheet come off the same machine as thicker padding.
The tolerance that matters to a mattress buyer is held at the thin end, not only at 50 mm.
Blocks up to 3000*2200*1250 mm are sliced across the full width without re-setting.
The first sheet of a block is the sample. Measure it at both edges and in the middle, and if it sits inside ±0.05 mm the rest of the block will follow, provided the block is square and the blade is sharp.
At 0.5-2 mm the sheet is thin enough that a 0.05 mm error is five percent of the thickness. That error can come from the machine, but more often it comes from the material: a block face that is not flat, a block that is not seated, or foam that has taken a set from storage. Checking the block before the pass is cheaper than checking the sheet after it.
The blade is the second variable. A dull blade compresses the foam before it cuts, and the sheet springs back thinner at the entry edge than the middle. On thin sheet that reads as a taper along the block. Check the edge at the start of each shift rather than when the sheet looks wrong.
The third variable is heat. Foam softens as the workshop warms, and a setting that produced 0.5 mm sheet in the morning can produce 0.55 mm sheet after the heating comes on. Note the workshop temperature in the batch log and re-check the first sheet after any change.

| Symptom | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet thickness varies across the width | Block not square to the feed line | Trim the block, re-set it against the fence and re-check the first sheet |
| Wavy or rippled sheet edge | Blade dulling or low blade tension | Check the edge, re-tension or change the blade |
| Blade marks on the cut face | Feed speed too high for the foam grade | Reduce the feed rate for soft or low-density foam |
| Sheet tears at the thin end of the range | 0.5-2 mm cut taken at high feed speed | Slow the feed for thin sheet and check the blade edge |
| Block creeps during the pass | Block not aligned or not held against the table | Re-position the block and confirm it is seated before starting |
| Thickness drifts along a long block | Guide wear or thermal movement in the frame | Check guide clearance and cut a test sheet at the end of the block |
Most sheet complaints trace back to the first slice of a block, not to the machine. Cut one test sheet, measure it at both edges and the middle, and the correction costs one slice instead of a full shift of scrap.
The machine occupies 8300*6200*2500 mm and weighs 6000 kg, so it needs a level floor and clear space on the take-off side for full 2200 mm sheets. A table that is narrower than the sheet forces the operator to fold it, and a crease in a 0.5 mm sheet is scrap.
Keep a log per block: foam grade and density, block size, thickness setting, blade hours and the measurement from the first sheet. When a buyer reports a thin comfort layer, the log shows whether the cause was the block, the setting or the edge.
The blade and the guide decide whether thin sheet stays inside tolerance. Check the edge every shift, keep the guide clear of dust, and follow the sharpening interval for the foam grade. A blade that is only slightly dull will still cut 50 mm sheet cleanly while producing a taper on 1 mm sheet.
The table and the fence need to be flat and square. Foam dust under a block, or a chip on the table, shows up as a thin patch in the sheet directly above it. Clean the table surface at every block change, not once a week.
The machine ships in an export plywood case with the head blocked and the table protected. At 8300*6200*2500 mm and 6000 kg, plan the container loading and confirm the door width at the destination before the freight booking.
