900x700x1000 mm Foam Baler with 800 mm Stroke and 7.5 kW Motor for Vertical Sponge Baling
TDB-01 Vertical Baler for 900x700x1000 mm Sponge Bales

The TDB-01 is a vertical hydraulic baler that compresses waste sponge into bales up to 900*700*1000 mm. Maximum stroke is 800 mm, motor power is 7.5 kW, the machine weighs 2500 kg and the overall footprint is 1300*1120*3000 mm. It is CE certified.

Loose foam offcuts are mostly air, and every truck that leaves the plant carries that air. Baling changes the economics: the same container holds several times the weight, the bales stack square, and waste leaves as a sellable commodity instead of a disposal cost.

The Machine at a Glance

900*700*1000 mm bale

A consistent bale size, so bales stack and load without gaps.

800 mm stroke

Enough travel to compress a full chamber of offcuts into one bale.

7.5 kW hydraulic drive

Runs on a standard workshop supply without a dedicated power upgrade.

Baling a Load of Offcuts
  1. Sort the load. Keep PU with PU; mixed material makes a bale that no recycler wants.
  2. Load the chamber. Fill to the chamber size without forcing oversized pieces.
  3. Close and press. Run the press plate down through the 800 mm stroke.
  4. Hold and tie. Hold pressure while the bale is tied, so the ties stay tight when released.
  5. Eject and stack. Remove the bale and stack it square, ready for loading.
  6. Record the weight. Weigh a sample bale so freight can be planned per container.

Tie the bale at full pressure, not after the plate starts to release. A bale tied loose expands in the container and loses the volume advantage that justified baling it.

The Economics of Baling Foam Waste

Foam offcuts have a low bulk density. A truck loaded with loose offcuts hits its volume limit long before its weight limit, so most of what is being paid for is air. Baling changes that ratio, and the freight saving is usually the fastest payback on the machine.

The bale size matters as much as the compression. A consistent 900*700*1000 mm bale stacks without gaps, which means a container or a store can be filled properly. Bales of varying size waste the space that the baler was bought to save.

Baled foam is also easier to sell. A recycler buying loose offcuts has to handle them twice, and that cost comes off the price. A bale that can be weighed and stacked is a commodity, and it is priced as one.

  • Freight per tonne: volume reduction is where the saving comes from.
  • Bale consistency: uniform bales stack without wasted space.
  • Sellable form: bales are easier to weigh, handle and price than loose scrap.
Weigh a sample bale once the setting is stable. Freight planning needs bale weight, not only bale size.

Core Advantages
  • Volume reduction: loose offcuts become dense bales, so freight per tonne drops.
  • Consistent bale size: 900*700*1000 mm bales stack square in a container or a store.
  • 800 mm stroke: full compression of a loaded chamber before tying.
  • 7.5 kW motor: standard workshop power, no special supply needed.
  • Vertical design: 1300*1120 mm footprint, so it fits a corner of the waste area.
  • Sellable waste: baled foam is easier to sell to a recycler than loose offcuts.
  • CE certified: export-ready guarding and electrics.
Primary Applications
  • Foam plant waste: cutting and trimming offcuts baled on site.
  • Mattress factories: trim scrap compressed for collection.
  • Furniture foam shops: offcut baling before sale to a recycler.
  • Rebond plants: bales stored or shipped as feed material.
  • Packaging foam waste: volume reduced before transport.
  • Warehouse clean-up: loose scrap turned into stackable bales.

Baler Faults and Their Causes
Symptom Likely cause Action
Bale comes out loose Hydraulic pressure low or oil temperature high Check pressure setting and oil temperature, top up the oil
Press plate stops short of the stroke Limit switch set wrong or cylinder seal leaking Reset the limit switch, check the cylinder seal
Pressure drops while holding Worn seals in the valve block or cylinder Replace the seals and re-test the hold pressure
Press plate rises unevenly Air in the hydraulic circuit Bleed the circuit and check the oil level
Motor overheats on long runs Too many cycles without a cooling break Space the cycles and check the oil cooler
Bale ties come loose in the bale Insufficient compression before tying Compress to full stroke before tying the bale

Baler faults are hydraulic before they are mechanical. Check oil level, oil temperature and pressure first, because a loose bale or a short stroke is usually pressure and not the frame.

Operation, Safety and Bale Handling

Never reach into the chamber while the press plate is moving. The vertical baler is a press, and a hand in the chamber is the one mistake that cannot be corrected.

Keep the bales clear of the machine as they come out. A stacked bale falling from a leaning pile is the usual injury on a baling operation, not the press itself.

  • No hands in the chamber: isolate before clearing a jam.
  • Bale stacking: square stacks only, no leaning piles.
  • Pressure check: confirm the gauge reads correctly before the first bale of a shift.
  • Guarding: chamber guard and emergency stop in place.

Blade Care and Daily Maintenance

Hydraulic oil is the item that decides how long the baler works. Check the level and the temperature at the start of a shift, and change the oil on the schedule rather than when a bale comes out loose.

Check the seals and the hoses monthly. A slow leak shows up as a pressure drop while holding, which produces a loose bale long before anything looks broken.

  • Every shift: oil level, oil temperature, pressure gauge.
  • Weekly: hoses and fittings, tie slots, chamber guides.
  • Monthly: seals, press plate guides, motor current.
  • Annually: hydraulic oil change and filter.

Packaging and Delivery

The baler ships in export packing as one unit at 2500 kg, with the hydraulic unit protected. Confirm the forklift capacity at both ends and the door height against the 3000 mm overall height.

Delivery is 45 working days after downpayment, payment by T/T or L/C, minimum order one set. Hydraulic oil is supplied to the local specification, and commissioning guidance ships with the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What bale size does it make?

A: Up to 900*700*1000 mm, held consistent bale to bale.

Q2: What is the stroke and motor?

A: 800 mm maximum stroke on a 7.5 kW hydraulic drive.

Q3: What floor space does it need?

A: A 1300*1120 mm footprint, 3000 mm tall.

Q4: Why bale instead of bagging?

A: Baling removes the air, so freight and storage cost per tonne drop.

Q5: What are the terms?

A: 45 working days after downpayment, T/T or L/C, minimum order one set.
