TDB-01 7.5 kW Foam Baler for Workshop Waste

The TDB-01 is a 7.5 kW vertical hydraulic foam baler on a 1300*1120 mm footprint. It stands 3000 mm tall, weighs 2500 kg, compresses waste sponge into bales up to 900*700*1000 mm with an 800 mm stroke and runs on a 380 V supply. It is CE certified.

Most workshops that generate foam waste do not have a spare room for a baler. A machine that fits a 1300*1120 mm corner and runs on an ordinary 380 V supply gets installed; one that needs a foundation and a new power drop usually does not.

The Machine at a Glance

1300*1120 mm footprint

Fits a corner of the waste area instead of needing a separate room.

7.5 kW on 380 V

Runs on a standard workshop supply, no power upgrade.

2500 kg machine

No foundation work; a level concrete floor is enough.

Installing a Baler in a Small Workshop
  1. Pick the corner. Allow 1300*1120 mm plus room to load and to move bales away.
  2. Check the floor. Level concrete is enough at 2500 kg; no foundation needed.
  3. Connect power. 380 V supply with 7.5 kW available, or the customized voltage.
  4. Fill hydraulic oil. Top up to the specified grade and level.
  5. Run a test bale. Compress and tie one bale, then weigh it.
  6. Set the routine. Who loads, who ties, and where the bales are stacked.

Leave room to move a bale away from the machine. A baler with a wall behind it becomes a machine that is loaded and then not emptied, and the waste piles up in front of it instead of inside it.

Why Workshop Balers Get Left Unused

Baling machines in small workshops usually fail on installation, not on performance. A baler that needs a foundation, a dedicated power drop, or a room that does not exist stays in its crate while the offcuts go into bags.

A 1300*1120 mm footprint with a 7.5 kW 380 V supply removes those obstacles. It sits in the corner where the offcuts already are, and it runs from the power that is already in the building.

The second reason is bale handling. A baler needs clear space at the discharge to move bales out and stack them, and a machine squeezed against a wall will not be used. Planning the corner properly is the difference between a working baling routine and a machine under a tarpaulin.

  • Fit the space: a 1.3 m by 1.1 m footprint fits most waste corners.
  • Use existing power: 7.5 kW on 380 V, no new supply.
  • Clear bale space: room to move bales out is part of the installation.
Leave clear floor at the bale discharge. A baler that cannot be emptied is a baler that stops being used.

Core Advantages
  • Small footprint: 1300*1120 mm, tall rather than wide, so it fits where space is tight.
  • Standard power: 7.5 kW on 380 V, customizable to the local supply.
  • No foundation: 2500 kg on a level concrete floor.
  • Quick install: one unit, hydraulic oil filled on site, running the same day.
  • 900*700*1000 mm bales: a size a recycler or a container can handle.
  • Low running cost: the press only draws power during a cycle.
  • CE certified: export-ready guarding and electrics.
Primary Applications
  • Small foam workshops: waste baled without a dedicated waste room.
  • Furniture upholstery shops: offcut baling in a shared workshop.
  • Mattress workshops: trim scrap compressed on site.
  • Packaging departments: foam waste reduced before collection.
  • Retail foam cutting: offcuts baled behind the shop floor.
  • Rental and shared facilities: one baler serving several small producers.

Baler Faults and Their Causes
Symptom Likely cause Action
Bale comes out loose Hydraulic pressure low or oil temperature high Check pressure setting and oil temperature, top up the oil
Press plate stops short of the stroke Limit switch set wrong or cylinder seal leaking Reset the limit switch, check the cylinder seal
Pressure drops while holding Worn seals in the valve block or cylinder Replace the seals and re-test the hold pressure
Press plate rises unevenly Air in the hydraulic circuit Bleed the circuit and check the oil level
Motor overheats on long runs Too many cycles without a cooling break Space the cycles and check the oil cooler
Bale ties come loose in the bale Insufficient compression before tying Compress to full stroke before tying the bale

Baler faults are hydraulic before they are mechanical. Check oil level, oil temperature and pressure first, because a loose bale or a short stroke is usually pressure and not the frame.

Operation, Safety and Waste Routine

Baling works when it is part of the shift, not a job saved for Friday. Load the chamber as offcuts are produced, and the bale is finished by the end of the day.

Keep hands out of the chamber and keep the emergency stop reachable. A small baler is still a hydraulic press and deserves the same discipline as a large one.

  • Routine: load during the shift, tie at the end of it.
  • No hands in the chamber: isolate before clearing a jam.
  • Emergency stop: reachable from the loading position.
  • Bale storage: square stacks, clear of walkways.

Blade Care and Daily Maintenance

On a machine that runs a few cycles a day, the maintenance risk is neglect rather than wear. Check oil level and pressure monthly at a minimum, and check the hoses for cracking, which is what time does to a hydraulic machine that sits idle.

Keep the chamber clean. Foam dust in the guides makes the plate run dry and the bale come out tapered.

  • Weekly (in use): oil level, pressure gauge, chamber clear.
  • Monthly: hoses, seals, door lock, guides.
  • Annually: oil and filter change even at low hours.
  • After long idle: full hydraulic check before the first bale.

Packaging and Delivery

The baler ships as one 2500 kg unit in export packing. At 3000 mm overall height, check the door height and the forklift capacity at the destination before delivery.

Delivery is 45 working days after downpayment, payment by T/T or L/C, minimum order one set. Commissioning guidance and a spare seal kit ship with the machine.
